Koreans is a spy drama remake of the popular American FX series The Americans, set against the backdrop of a divided Korea. The Americans, which aired from 2013 to 2018 across six seasons, garnered widespread acclaim. Lee Byung-hun’s return to the spy genre, following his iconic role in the 2009 Korean espionage drama IRIS, is anticipated to spark considerable excitement. Attention is also focused on who will be cast as the female lead to play his spy partner.

The production of Koreans is being handled by Studio AA, with the broadcasting platform yet to be finalized. Given the large-scale budget required, discussions with global streaming platforms are reportedly underway.
